Lawrence LaRocque is an avid Niagara enthusiast it’s been one of his passions since he discovered it some thirty odd years ago on a weekend getaway when he decided to move here. And he Says “it still feels like I’m on vacation, it’s a grand place to visit and be”.

To keep a long story short
…Things were getting on great here in Niagara, but alas… “Mother Nature caught up with me, and gave me what-for, I guess it was a punishment for all my long hours and overindulgences”. He was forced to retire due to a heart attack and later a stroke. The stroke left him bed ridden for quite some time, with a diagnosis “he will never walk again”.

Though he does have what he calls, “my lazy left side” he gets around on his own, but slowly.

As part of his recovery therapy he keeps busy with this Niagara project that fits right in with his lifelong passion which is art, a mix drawing, painting and photography.

Now combined with his other passions of Niagara and its past has blossomed into a written words and pictures tour ‘Around N’ About Niagara’ of 100, 200 years ago and as far back as its 1535 discovery.

It’s an Album of Happenings, Sights and Things that Interested Visitors and Residence of Those Times Long Ago. It’s a Rare Old Times Resource and Decorative Wall Art Centre.

Through this he shares with you the exciting things he discovered about the old times in Niagara dating back to its discovery 473 years ago and beyond…

See the results of his extensive high and low, here and there search and rescue of published words, books – stories – articles – poetry – and the like, plus the images, pictures – drawings – paintings – photographs – lost for 100, 200 years and longer in time.

This search for old publications in dark and dusty hideaways around the world though difficult has resulted in the rescue of amazing pictures lost in times long past. And through the marvel of modern cutting edge digital technology he has been able to bring to light a marvelous one-of-its-kind series of ‘Old Time Gallery Prints’.

These fabulous images, pictures - drawings - paintings - photographs of those times long ago have been reissued on Fine Art Paper.

This high and low, here and there, search also resulted in the rescue of a fascinating series of… Old Time Books
