Home of the three flight locks of the Welland Canal, Thorold is the city where ships from all over the world climb and descend the 100 meters of the Niagara Escarpment face.

Thorold has trails you can follow, tour the route of the second Welland canal, and remnants and distinctive buildings of the era you can view and take pictures of along the route.
