Not long ago, people responded in doubt and disbelief to the suggestion that world class wines could be produced in Canada.

After all, Canada is so far north, it's cold, the days are shorter, the nights are longer and with all that ice and snow! How is it possible?

Even so, in Niagara "Oenology" - the art and science of wine making - (enology – the study of wine) - started over 200 years ago with the Indians.

Today, there are over 60 wineries in Ontario, with Niagara (The Peninsula) as the leading producer of Canadian wines.

It is here that skill, dedication and patience have brought this grape-growing region to international recognition.
