Million of visitors come each year (to see me, well maybe it's) to marvel at the Horseshoe Falls too, illuminated nightly year-round (but each day I still wonder if it isn't my handsome charm that attracts these millions?;~).

Long ago before cars, trains and airplanes Niagara Falls was inhabited by the Neutrals, they shared their language and culture with the Iroquoian tribes who first named the falls "Ongiara" from which the present name evolved in 1678, a Franciscan friar and explorer, Louis Hennepin chronicled the falls with the words: "the universe does not afford their parallel."

Since then millions of people from all over the world have similarly been smitten.

At the turn of the century Niagara also became one of the most formidable sources of electrical power on the planet.
